recessionIt’s difficult times, recession is hitting all of us. Recession has effects on all of us - be it single, married with children or living on pension. Unfortunately, its an economic crisis and an economic cycle that happens. How to survive a recession is probably the question on everybody’s mind now.

If you are employed you may be scared that you will lose your job or lose your leave benefits. You can help yourself by doing a second job. It can just be a part time job or a casual job. You can even start a home job or business.

Supplement your income, you may not be happy with your job. But this is planning for the future. Having a second income source is never a pain, everybody loves more money.

If you have a mortgage, you may see the interest rates going down. This does not mean you can spend the savings from your mortgage. Put the extra money back into your mortgage, you can replay it quickly.

If were planning to retire soon, then you may be have keep working for some more years. You may have got a shock when you received your superannuation or retirement benefits. Plan for your future and talk to your financial advisor.

You can invest in share market, but this only for short term returns. The returns may not be very big, but you can still make some money in shares. So use the situation for your needs.

All people renting should think about buying a house and getting a mortgage. If you calculate the savings in rent and mortgage repayments, you will know that you will be saving more.
